How We Source and Verify Data

Where information comes from

• Public sources, such as outlet staff pages, bylines and published work.
• Records maintained by outlets that have claimed their organization.
• Information provided or confirmed by the person listed.
• Licensed data from providers, under agreements that permit our use.
• Confirmations from customers: reports that an address worked or bounced, from established workspaces that revealed it first.
• Staff curation and reviewed imports. Customer imports stay private to the customer’s workspace and never enter the shared directory.

What we do not collect

• Personal (non-work) addresses and phone numbers, home addresses, or personal social accounts.
• Sensitive categories of data such as health, political opinions or religion.
• Information about private individuals outside media and communications.

How each detail is labeled

Every detail shows its source, a confidence level and when it was last confirmed. “Owner verified” means the person or their outlet confirmed it. “Community verified” means several independent workspaces reported it worked. “Unverified” means we inferred or received it without confirmation and you should check before relying on it. Details that cannot be confirmed decay in freshness and are flagged as stale.

How people control their listing

Anyone listed can claim their profile, change their title and pitch preferences, mark themselves do-not-contact, or ask for removal. Outlets can correct their team, protect senior contacts and publish pitch guidelines. See /for-contacts and /for-outlets.

Corrections and removal

Customers can suggest corrections with evidence. Staff review corrections and privacy requests, and we complete valid removal requests within 30 days, keeping only a suppression entry so the person is not re-added.
